What are UDiTH Apps?
UDiTH Apps are modular extensions that add specific functionality to the UDiTH platform.
They come in three groups: the UDiTH Toolkit with apps that work together, standalone apps for a specific task such as RealitySnap AI, and Partner Ecosystem Apps developed by our partners.
What is the UDiTH Toolkit?
The UDiTH Toolkit is a suite of apps that share the same data and interact with each other: Tickets for punch lists, action items and management of change, Workflows for approvals and signatures, LoToTo for lock-out, tag-out, try-out and isolation management, and the Clash Manager for detecting, categorizing and approving clashes.
For example, a ticket can start an approval workflow, and a clash decision can be documented as a ticket.
The Toolkit also includes a plug-in system: additional apps can be added as soon as they become available – whether developed by CAXperts or by the client.
How do UDiTH Apps integrate into the platform?
All apps run natively within the AppControls Framework and have direct access to UDiTH’s UniversalAPI. They interact seamlessly with each other and with the 3D model – for example, a workflow can highlight components in the model or link directly to asset data.
Technically, the apps are web applications that access the UniversalAPI and can also access the API of any external software – for example ERP, CMMS, DMS or IoT solutions. This builds a bridge between the systems and creates a seamless integration.
Can partners or customers develop their own UDiTH Apps?
Yes. UDiTH is modular by design and open by philosophy: the AppControls Framework allows partners and customers to develop their own apps with standard web technologies – TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS – and common frameworks.
Developers familiar with modern front-end environments can quickly create or extend apps, using the UniversalAPI for 3D visualization, data queries and workflow integration. Apps remain independent of the UDiTH core while having full API access to data, models and workflows.
Are UDiTH Apps included by default or licensed separately?
The UDiTH Toolkit is part of the core apps included with UDiTH.
Partner Ecosystem Apps are subject to the respective partner’s terms and conditions and may require a separate licence or purchase.
RealitySnap AI requires a subscription with an AI provider. The client arranges this subscription directly with the provider, independently of CAXperts.
Do UDiTH Apps work on all client devices?
UDiTH Apps are browser-based and run on every system supported by UDiTH – including Windows, iOS and Android, from workstations to tablets. No local installation or plug-ins are required.
Can UDiTH Apps be branded or customized for specific projects?
Yes. Depending on its scope, both the visual design and the functionality of an app can be customized or white-labeled to match partner or client branding, ensuring a consistent user experience across integrated solutions.
How are UDiTH Apps deployed?
The AppControls Framework offers flexible deployment options: from stand-alone HTML files and IIS-hosted applications to Docker containers, UDiTH Apps fit any IT environment or integration strategy.
Can UDiTH Apps use AI or advanced analytics?
Yes. UDiTH supports AI-assisted workflows and data services, such as RealitySnap AI for 3D object generation and the AI capabilities of the UDiTH Companion. Developers can extend these capabilities or integrate third-party AI frameworks into their own apps.
For advanced analytics, external systems such as Power BI can be integrated quickly.
