Introduction
UniversalPlantViewer Builder uses 2D data, 3D data and meta data prepared by the following adapters and the SDK to create UniversalPlantViewer models:

Prerequisites
Software
- OS: Windows 10 64bit or newer
- AdapterForSmartReview: Recommended version: Intergraph Smart Review 2018 HF3 (SPR13.00.00.0441 2019-7-26)
- AdapterForDocuments: SmartSketch: 2018 or newer
- AdapterForNavisworks: Navisworks Simulate or Manage version 2017 - 2023
- AdapterForSpid: SmartPlant P&ID 2009.5 or newer (for IntelliPID)
- UniversalPlantViewer Builder
Hardware
- CPU: Intel core i5, 6 cores, 3 GHz (Intel core i7, 8 Cores, 4 GHz or better)
- RAM: 16GB (32GB)
- Storage: HDD (SSD or NVME SSD)
Other
Partitioning: (OS on separate drive, source files, output and temp-folder on fastest drive) For performance reasons, the files to process should be stored on a local drive.
Quick start
Determine which Adapter is needed for your input type (see chart above).
Start that Adapter
Select your input file
Press “Capture”
The UPVC file will now be created.
Start the Builder
Open the UPVC file which was just created
Press “Generate output”
Select “UniversalPlantViewer” as output type
Press “Create” - The UPV model will now be created.
Open the output folder and start UniversalPlantViewer.exe
For mobile devices:
Copy the output folder to your webserver.
Download and run the UniversalPlantViewer app
In the app: enter the address of your webserver and model
For BrowserBaserViewing
- Open the UPV model website of your organisation directly in your browser
